Hungry for Hybrid

“GOTO HYBRID PLANETARIUM® refers to a system that combines an opto-mechanical planetarium projector with a fulldome digital video imaging system, all under one synchronizing control system. While other manufacturers may be adding opto-mechanical and video systems into the same dome, they lack the full synchronization and full, live, real-time manual control console of the GOTO HYBRID. This single system with the best features of both worlds is truly The Educator's Choice.
*“GOTO HYBRID PLANETARIUM” is the registered trade mark of GOTO INC
■ Many Configurations to Fit Different Purposes and Dome Sizes
GOTO INC has developed several types of hybrid planetarium so that each client can select which one best suits the size and purpose of their facility. Choose from 4 opto-mechanical models and an even larger number of video projector arrangements. Currently the HYBRID planetarium experience can be accomplished with SUPER-HELIOS, CHIRON, SUPER-URANUS, and CHRONOS IIopto-mechanical systems.

Track Record: Morioka Children’s Museum of Science
■ The World's First HYBRID Planetarium
The Morioka Children’s Museum of Science was remodeled and reopened in July 2004 as the world's first hybrid planetarium dome - the first GOTO HYBRID Planetarium®. It has since evolved into the Science Dome, a site where people can study not only astronomy but also other sciences. The integration of an opto-mechanical system and a fulldome video system has created a totally new type of space which has redefined the planetarium concept.
