GOTO INC has a long history of producing custom mobile observatories in Japan.
These vehicles typically use our 20cm/25cm Coude telescope mounted in a Japanese commercial
truck or van. The vehicle goes to schools, public halls, parks, and anywhere for that matter.
Its utilization is far higher than immobile observatories. The vehicle is equipped with
audiovisual devices that can be used to continue teaching about the night sky if the event is
cancelled due to clouds, for example. |

The biggest advantage of the Astrocar is that it can squeeze into any spot as long as
a parking space is available. It can support events in which neighborhood residents get together
to talk and enjoy views of the universe. The Astrocar suits events at a square, park,
hall or highway service area, bringing the universe very close to people from all walks of life.
