Solar eclipse project in 2009

Solar Eclipse has brought numerous legends and captured astronomers’ hearts. On July 22, 2009, we will have a big chance to observe the solar eclipse in Japan for the first time in 46 years. Yet, it will be seen only in the limited area and only when the whether conditions are met. And a lot of challenges and difficulties are anticipated to see it. GOTO has observed total solar eclipse since 1936, which is the year when the 2.26 incident, an attempted coup d’etat was occurred in Japan. While it was turbulent days, yearning for the stars inspired engineers to shoot the phenomenon. The films of the total solar eclipse of 1936 became valuable data astronomically as well as literally. Since then, we have traveled to Kushiro, Hokkaido in 1943, Hawaii and Mexico in 1991 and Shinjang Uyghur aptonom rayoni, China in 2008 following the total solar eclipse. Traveling across oceans, we continued to observe it and send the precious images to a lot of people. This year, in 2009, we captured the mysterious moment of the total solar eclipse in fulldome digital fashion and will deliver the pictures to you as a show, "Black Sun - Total solar eclipse (tentative title)" GOTO will continue to pursue beautiful and glorious moment in the future.
