The Mid-Atlantic Planetarium Society met July 27-30 in Waldorf, Maryland. Members exchanged ideas about space education, heard from several aerospace and astronomy experts, and learned about the newest technology in the planetarium world. GOTO INC representatives Ken Miller and Yuka Sato shared information about GOTO equipment and planetarium shows, and as always, sought input from practicing planetarians which will lead to even better products from GOTO in the future.

Ken Miller also held a popular solar eclipse workshop, since all American planetarians are now gearing up for the August 21, 2017 eclipse. Ken's workshop was a mixture of education, fun, and inspiration to take the opportunity of the eclipse seriously. Participants went away more ready to teach about the Earth-Sun-Moon system and eye safety. They were also challenged to think of ways to use the eclipse to increase awareness of and perhaps even raise funds for their planetarium.
