PANDORA HYBRID into Tsuruga City Children’s WorldTsuruga Children's World invites you into the Galaxy!

GOTO INC president Nobutaka Goto was pleased to announce the re-opening of the Tsuruga Children's World planetarium on April 1, 2015. The planetarium was originally opened in 1980 with another company's projector, then closed for 2 years for major renovations to the theater. So the PANDORA HYBRID generated a great deal of excitement upon this reopening!

The renovation replaced the old machine with GOTO's PANDORA opto-mechanical planetarium projector. This 48cm diameter starball is roughly one fifth the size of the old machine! So audiences are much more easily able to see the sky with minimal blockage. In addition, GOTO's VIRTUARIUM X fulldome video system was installed, using 4K video projectors, and was synchronized with the PANDORA. To control it all, the HYBRID manual control console was added to allow easy and flexible programming.

GOTO also coordinated a new dome screen installation, seat renovations and re-orienting into a more uni-directional layout, as well as provision for wheelchairs. Since the PANDORA has very small mechanical footprint, now 195 seats and 2 wheelchair spaces fit nicely under the 15m dome.
So today, the center is able to continue and expand its mission. The center strives to cultivate aesthetic sensitivity with the purpose of forming children's personalities, and to enhance its work to improve child welfare services in commemoration of the "International Children's Year." The Tsuruga Children's World consists of the culture center, a children's center and park, and the new and new, dynamic planetarium shining 40,000,000 stars over the heads of happy children.
