Byeolmaro Observatory in Korea Renewed with GOTO ORPHEUS HYBRID Planetarium system

In December 2019, GOTO ORPHEUS HYBRID Planetarium system was installed to the Byeolmaro Observatory located in Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do, Republic of Korea. "ORPHEUS" is the optical planetarium and "VIRTUARIUM X" is the digital engine for the hybird system. Byolmaro Observatory is the first overseas delivery for the ORPHEUS HYBRID Planetarium system.

Byeolmaro observatory opened as a new facility in 2001, and GOTO GS-AT projector had been used for a long time. In the process of the plan to upgrade the planetarium equipment, the function and quality of the GOTO’s latest optical projector, ORPHEUS was evaluated as being most suitable for the projection policy at the Byeolmaro observatory, which focuses on the starry sky guidance viewed from the ground.
Byeolmaro observatory is the most famous observatory in Korea because it became the movie shooting site of "Radio Star" released in 2006, attracting about 50,000 visitors every year.
The star live shows which starts in the afternoon every day are very popular that all 54 seats are occupied by visitors. In addition to the planetarium shows, you can enjoy the starry sky with multiple telescopes.
