GOTO, INC (Headquarters: Fuchu City, Tokyo, President: Nobutaka Goto) announces the product launch of a newly developed LED dome.

The LED dome is a video display system that consists of a surface constructed from LED lighting elements as the visual display. It expresses vivid images on a curved or irregular surface, and also takes advantage of the high brightness and wide color gamut possible with LED technology; creating a bright and sharp video environment that cannot be achieved with conventional video projection.

Using decades of experience and innovation in the planetarium field, GOTO INC has developed the LED Dome in collaboration with a domestic LED display manufacturer and incorporating GOTO’s own image display engine. A 5m diameter demonstration LED dome was installed at the main GOTO factory in Fuchu City, Tokyo. This system is capable of displaying characters and images using millions of real-time digital picture elements, enabling highly detailed image expression.

Through the development and installation of this LED dome, GOTO INC has acquired knowledge regarding different resolutions, dome diameters, shapes, etc. The system has capabilities far beyond typical planetarium usage, GOTO is ready to work with all customers applications including museums, theme parks, art galleries, commercial facilities, special exhibitions, simulation environments, or any immersive environment that can benefit from the LED dome’s technology.
