NEW! GOTO INC. Installs “Aethérios” Ultra-Compact High-Definition Planetarium at Showa Gakuin Junior & Senior High School

GOTO INC has completed the installation of the “Aethérios Hybrid” system at Showa Gakuin Junior & Senior High School (Ichikawa, Chiba). This “Hybrid Planetarium” combines the Aethérios optical projector—reproducing a stunning sky with approximately 3 million stars—with a high-definition 4K laser projection system for immersive digital visuals.
The system will be utilized for science curriculum (including the affiliated elementary school), club activities, and school festivals.
(Note: The facility is currently not open to the general public.)

Project Details & Background

Showa Gakuin originally installed a 6-meter digital planetarium in 2010. After 16 years of operation, the school has upgraded to a "Hybrid Planetarium" to address hardware aging and to provide a more scientifically accurate, beautiful celestial experience for enhanced student learning.

Featured Technology

1. Aethérios: Ultra-Compact Optical Projector
The Aethérios projector recreates the Milky Way using 3 million individual stars, offering a level of beauty unattainable by digital systems alone. It accurately reproduces the inherent colors of stars, ensuring high educational value. Its compact design ensures an unobstructed view for all 40 seats within the 6-meter dome.

2. VIRTUARIUM X: 4K Full-Dome Digital System
Using a 4K laser projector and proprietary high-performance lenses, the VIRTUARIUM X delivers sharp, vibrant digital content. It allows students to transition from local schoolyard views to bird's-eye perspectives of the solar system, facilitating a deeper understanding of planetary relationships.
