NEW! Tochigi Children’s Science Museum unveils Celestial Masterpiece with CHIRON III Hybrid soon
GOTO INC has completed the successful installation of its state-of-the-art “CHIRON III Hybrid” system at the Tochigi Children’s Science Museum, now proudly nicknamed Kojima Children’s Science Park.
This is more than just a planetarium upgrade, and it’s the dawn of a new cosmic experience. The “Hybrid Planetarium” masterfully unites the old and new. CHIRON III Optical Projector: An engineering marvel that projects an astronomically accurate, breathtaking 1.03 billion stars, providing a pristine, unmatched view of the Milky Way that only optical technology can deliver. The Virtuarium II Digital System is a cutting-edge, all-dome digital video system powered by four high-definition projectors, offering immersive, full-dome digital content.
The fusion of these two technologies creates an unparalleled vista—from the crystal-clear beauty of a star-filled sky to dynamic, engaging digital journeys. Furthermore, the entire inside of a planetarium space has been redesigned to celebrate the spirit of “Tochigi-ness,” with the walls featuring the traditional local craft “Kanuma Kumiko.”
The newly renovated facility, which has captivated nearly 550,000 visitors annually since its opening in 1988, is set to open its doors to the public with the new system on Friday, October 3, 2025.
