Space LABO in Kyushu, Japan with CHIRON III in a 30m dome

Space LABO (Kitakyushu City Science Museum) was constructed in a commercial facility called “The Outlet Kitakyushu” on the site of Space World as a successor facility to the Kitakyushu City Children's Culture Science Museum. They had opened as Yahata City Children's Science Museum in 1955 and later renamed Kitakyushu City Children's Culture Science Museum. They had our L2 planetarium projector in a 20m horizontal dome and replaced it with G1920si projector in 1992. They were closed in December 2021 and has been reborn as Space LABO (Kitakyushu City Science Museum) with CHIRON III in a new 30m horizontal dome.

This 30m dome is the largest in Kyushu area (one of the largest in western Japan) and there are CHIRON III Hybrid Planetarium with four 8K (e-shift) video projectors and "Video Skyline" that projects high-resolution landscape videos. They can also be used for entertainment events with audio equipment dedicated to the stage.

Inside 30m dome, the wide reclining seats allow 250 people to relax in the room, and there are also parent-child seats and deluxe seats. In addition, it is equipped with a space where you can see the shows while in a wheelchair, a stroller storage space, and a hearing support device called hearing loop, so it can be used comfortably by a wide range of visitors.
